Anti-ICEing Bill Passes!
With bipartisan support, Colorado's HB19-1298 was passed by both the Colorado State House & Senate at the end of the legislative session. Starting this summer, ICE vehicles blocking EV chargers and EVs not using chargers will be in violation of the law and can be subject to a fine of $150 and surcharge of $32. There are some exceptions that can be found here.
This bill is as much about supporting local business owners as much as EV owners since most EV charging stations are installed by private business owners seeking to attract EV patrons
EV owner Kamala Vanderkolk not only helped initiate and drive the bill but kept the EV community updated every step of the way. A special thanks to Kamala for her passion for the bill.
